A large Chinese cement design institute, as domestic cement industry's leading design institute, desires to cooperate with a foreign entity in technology development. During the course of preliminary communication between them, they found that three patents owned by a machinery manufacturing company prevent their technology development and cooperation project. The cooperation stranded due to the risk of patent infringement.
Our team members filed invalidity request of three patents on behalf of the cement institute. Two of the patents were completely invalidated based on strong evidence after conducting technical analysis on the patents and extensive evidence-gathering. Regarding the other patent, the patented technical solution was determined to have serious drawbacks after careful study. All three patents were eventually successfully invalidated, allowing once-stranded technology development and cooperation project to start anew. Today, the effects of the project are still well received.
